Moikka!
Mä oon Maria, toisen vuoden IT-opiskelija ja haen opintomestariksi! Kiltaan olen itse tutustunut apu-ie hommissa ja tänä vuonna ISO:llessa. Opintomestariksi haen, koska uskon, että se olisi pesti, missä pääsisin hyödyntämään mun vahvuuksia ja musta ois kiva päästä olemaan killassa aiempaa aktiivisemmin mukana.
Miksi opintomestariksi?
Mun kiinnostaa opintomestarin pesti, koska mulla menee ajoittain nää opinnot aika tunteisiin. Koen, että kurssien järjestämisessä, opetusmenetelmissä, lähtö vaatimuksissa ja esimerkiksi tenttien järjestämisessä olisi usein parannettavaa. Myös kavereiden tai muiden kiltalaisten kanssa keskustellessa aiheeksi usein jossain vaiheessa tulee kurssit, joihin opiskelijat toivoisi muutosta ja musta olisi siistiä päästä konkreettisesti viemään näitä asioita eteenpäin. Lisäksi musta olisi kiva lisätä opintomestarin näkyvyyttä killan toiminnassa, koska ainakin mulle opintomestarin pesti oli pitkään vähän mysteerinen. Tärkeätä olisi myös selkeämmin kommunikoida opiskelijoille, miten he voivat vaikuttaa opintoihin ja miten annettu palaute vaikuttaa, jotta motivaatio ilmaista epäkohtia säilyisi.
Miks mä?
Nyt joku saattaa olla sillei: ”Miks sä, eks sä oo se, joka haki AS:lle vahingossa?” Ja joo oon, mutta oon kokenut että mulle tärkeintä on uuden oppiminen, eikä niinkään joku tietty aihe. Ja vaikka oon kiinnostunut tämän reilun vuoden aikana, mitä oon täällä opiskellut,(laittoman paljon) signaaleista, niin koen, että pystyn aika objektiivisesti näkee just sen opetuksen ja kurssin järjestelyn merkityksen ja tärkeyden! Opiskelen myös näiden IT-opintojen ohella erityispedaogiikka (eli musta tulee erityisopettaja) ja uskonkin, että pystyn hyödyntämään tässä roolissa mun pedagogista osaamista. Lisäksi oon reipas ilmaisemaan omia mielipiteitäni, jos mulla on perusteet kunnossa ja uskon, että tästä taidosta on hyötyä kokoustaessa esimerkiksi AYY:n Opintoneuvoston kanssa.

Hello!
I’m Maria, a second-year IT student and I’m applying for the role of master of studies! I’ve personally gotten to know the guild in apu-ie work and by being an ISO. I’m applying for the role of because I think I could use my strengths there and it would be a nice way to be more actively involved in the guild.
Why the master of studies?
I feel that there is often room for improvement in the organization of courses, teaching methods, starting requirements and for example the organization of exams. Also, when talking with friends or other members of the guild, I have noticed that there are many students that would also like to see changes, and it would be cool to be able to move these things forward. In addition, it would be nice to increase the visibility of the master of studies’ role in the guild, because, at least for me, the role of study master was a bit mysterious for a long time. It would also be important to communicate more clearly to students how they can influence their studies and how the given feedback affects, so that the motivation to express grievances is maintained.
Why me?
Now someone might be like: ”Why you, aren’t you the one who applied for AS by accident?" And yes, I am, but for me the most important thing is learning something new, and not so much a specific topic. And even though I have been interested in signals during this past year that I have studied here, I feel that I can quite objectively see the meaning and importance of the teaching and the organization of the courses! Along with these IT studies, I am also studying special education and I believe that I will be able to use my pedagogical skills in this role. In addition, I am not afraid to express my own opinions if I have good reasonings and I believe that this skill will be useful when meeting, for example, with AYY’s Study Council.
