Hiya!
I’m Nimrod Pocsveiler, yapper extraordinaire and an active first year DSD student. Mildly fresh from abroad having moved back to Finland just under 4 years ago, I am in the unique position of seeing and understanding what it feels like starting your studies in a brand-new land. As a bonus I also understand Finnish, however can’t necessarily speak it due to the cursed grammar 
(I shall learn eventually 
). Altogether, along my passion for meeting new people I feel I would make a great applicant for inheriting this glorious role from Aapo.
Reasoning
I’ve already gotten to know pretty much everyone within my current DSD year, as well as many of our goated ISOs + Deputy who helped with the transition period into Aalto students. Having seen within the first week they helped, I decided I would like to carry on the torch and do the same for next year’s Fuksis. Not only would I get to know our undoubtedly amazing new freshies, but I’d also be able to guide them on to a successful beginning in the new school year! With the amazing energy and solid base left by our supreme “DSDokuty” Aapo, I feel that we can only take the role, and integration of our new DSD students into the AS guild, upwards.
The issues
Having briefly interviewed a few of my classmates about their feelings on the current DSD – AS relations, there was still much to be desired. They often felt that the parties weren’t for them, and that, starting a conversation with someone in a Finnish “environment”, where everything is happening in Finnish and everyone is already speaking in Finnish, was difficult. Not to mention the wide gap in drinking cultures for those coming in from abroad compared to the average Finn. It’s common for many Finns to have their first drink by 15-16 while many internationals will not even have any experience with alcohol before coming to Uni. And that does not even mention the amounts drank when drinking, where for many, even a relatively low level of drinking such as at a sitsit can feel like too much.
Solution
As such, I propose to organize several chill parties from DSD for the rest of AS, like the AS x PT Fuksichillis, with more of a focus on just hanging out and getting to know each other while playing board games, video games, and/or watching a movie together, over the traditional drinking parties. On top of this, the attendance to this party could be made a part of the Fuksi card, or, having a point where you need to introduce a person from the other side (English/Finnish) of AS to a board member to achieve the points.
Bonus
As an added bonus I have already organized a smaller yet nevertheless successful, chill student wine tasting for my fellow DSD students, and would like to organize many more such events in the future. (Pictures to be added as soon as I get my hands on some)

, I would need around 1.5 liters of this 90%abv alcohol to achieve 5%abv punch. However since I (unfortunately) am not a calculator, I would simply eyeball it, give the bowl a tap saying “that ain’t going anywhere” and inevitably mess it up. When that happens, I would be willing to stay up until 5 Am, since it wouldn’t impact my amazing (work in progress) sleep schedule anyways.
