Application for DSDeputy 2026

Moi! Xin chào!

Hello, good day to anyone reading this application (to those who don’t too, everyone deserves a good day).

I am Anh Vu, or Alex if you expect me to react to the calling. I am a DSD 25’ fuksi, an active and moderately alcoholic one. Beside the name and being a DSD fuksi, I am also a third-year business student and a scholar in yappiology.

Why DSDeputy?

Ever since the very first day of mine in DSD, which was VarASlähtö, I have been warmly welcomed and supported by DSDeputy and the ISOs, and I am sure it has been the same for my peers. Moved and inspired by their incredible work and efforts in guiding us on the fresh start in DSD Aalto and encouraging us to integrate into AS, I am greatly determined to carry on the good vibes and the distinct atmosphere of DSD. By the way, to all DSD-ers, fuksit or veteran fuksit, reading this, thank you all :index_pointing_up:

Current thoughts:

The second time being a fuksi gave me many realizations, but the most notable one would be the deep sympathy I have for the fuksit in a completely new environment, especially for those who just moved to Finland. Understanding the struggles, I am aspired to accompany and support our freshmen starting their whole new chapter. The student culture in Finland may seem foreign at first sight, but pushing through the awkwardness and reservations, the enjoyment we get from it is totally dazzling, and that is the kind of feeling I want to pass on as a DSDeputy.

Some past experiences that would help me with the job:

Back to when I was still a highschooler, I was highly active in students’ activities, and my go-to functions to work in were human resources and logistics. I am enthusiastic about working with people and around HR matters as well as handling the behind-the-scene logistics, and these are the experiences that I think would be relevant to the tasks of a DSDeputy.

Miscellaneous pieces of information:

  • Phenomenal cooking, “restaurant quality” said a friend.

  • A (moderate) alcoholic, Nimrod gets a shot if I become his successor.

  • I love purple (and pink, and green, hence dollar-green), one of the reasons why I chose DSD, the sole one even.

  • The DSD fuksi with the most patches sewn onto overalls (pretty sure, maybe in the whole AS even, picture below), proudly having 38 patches sewn.

Otaniemi-CV:

Basically non-existent because it’s my first year here, but I’m working on it, currently marching towards the Superfuksi title.

An ISO-wannabe if I’m not becoming the next DSDeputy.

TL;DR:

Who? Alex @a_2the_v

What? DSDeputy 2026

Why? I enjoy AS, DSD, and the people there

:waving_hand: Hi Alex, super excited to see you applying for the glorious role of DSDeputy!!

I have some important questions for you regarding your upcoming year.

  1. How would you force… I mean… “encourage” DSD students and fuksis to attend more events? Especially ones that you might be organizing?

  2. For the past two years the DSDeputy’s telegram tag has been DSD-(something that starts with D), for example DSDokuty, and DSDictator, have you thought of Tag you would adopt? :label:

  3. Thanks to our glorious ancestor V(omit)AAPO, DSDeputy also happens to be know as the “oksennusvastaava”, (the vomit responsible), how would you optimize, and minimize, the amount of vomit you will be cleaning during an event? And how much of it would be your own?

Thanks for taking the time to answer these critical questions!

(ps. what kind of shot would I be getting if you got voted? Not that I accept bribes to be clear  )

Hi Nimrod, thank you for these thought-provoking questions, especially the second one, really tricky. Let’s go through my answer for each:

  1. This is such an ongoing concern throughout the generations, as the DSDeputies are all aspired to help our folks in integrating into AS and student life in Otaniemi. Personally, my strategy would be advertising (as a true business person), persuading, pushing, and, as the last resort, begging; pairing it with my connections with DSD folks, my impeccable (annoying) cuteness, and the official role of DSDeputy, I can already forsee the success of this strategy. Furthermore, for events that I act as the organizer, I would investigate to find the elements that DSD folks find attractive, and incorporate them into the events. Then, advertise, push, and beg. To be honest, I am also cooking a few ideas for DSD events.

  2. This question has taken me so much time to solve. Initially, I had a name in my mind, I was trying not to mention it in the application because it is lowkey forbidden, and I’m not telling you that it is DSD*ke (I’m still not telling). However, beside that, I’m full of ideas right now, my top 1 is DSDaunt (I just realized that the ”aunt” part is kinda on point considering I’m mildly aged and my ISOs call me grandma), following by DSDevious, DSDevil, and DSDiabolical. Also, a friend (I’m not saying that is Martynas) suggested the tag DSDiva. I will eventually come up with the ultimate one but yeh these are all the nominees.

  3. To optimize, and minimize, the amount of vomit I will be cleaning, my strategy is simple: properly announcing the designated puke zone before the fun starts, maintaining hydration and monitoring hunger, roaming the field and following up with comrades to check for early-warning signs, and ensuring everyone drinks responsibly - by “responsibly” I mean responsibly AVOID drinking with me. As for my own contribution, by theory, I vow for a share of 0%, but my stats would say otherwise. However, as long as I’m not topping my full stomach with a shot of strong liquor mixed with fizzy drinks, I would be okay, and considering my current diet of purely strong liquor, no olut or cider, not even long drink, I would say that I’m going pretty strong.

I hope these would answer your questions, and just let me know if you have anything else to question about!

(Psst you are getting Absolut or Minttu or a mix of both, your choice. Both 40% alc, of course, as the person of quality I am :index_pointing_up:)
